The impact of corporate unethical acts in interorganizational networks
In this study, we are studying the impact of illegal logging / unethical acts in interfirm networks. We hypothesize that the quality of the network of partners and reduce the whole network will change the structure after a company committed an action unethical. More precisely, we assume that the decline in partner countries quality is mainly due to a better quality of companies in the network and, in the centre of constraints, to replace the inferior quality. We also propose that the partner countries, the importance and cohesiveness of the network will be affected after these acts, and that changes in the partner countries, the quality and structure of the network becomes more for these acts as more illegitimate. We test these hypotheses using a sample of 200 leading companies in the USA, ethics and data on the actions of these companies. Our results show that the quality of a network of business partners of the company by the Commission, action unethical, and that the deterioration in the partner countries, the quality tends to be higher for acts of greater Illegitimität. Our results also show declines in network and cohesion importance for companies involved in these activities. We discuss the impact on our results for literature in interfirm networks unethical business and activities.
